Traveling before Pujo is good news for thirsty Bengalis. Indian Railways has expanded the route of special trains running between Sealdah and Bhubaneswar. From now on the train will change from Bhubaneswar to Puri. Sealdah will return from Puri. This service is being launched from October 2. For now, this special train will run two days a week.

According to a notification issued by the Railways, the special train will leave Sealdah for Puri at 8 pm on Mondays and Fridays every week from October. The next day at 4:35 am the train will reach Puri.
Down trains, on the other hand, will leave Puri for Sealdah at 8.20 pm on Tuesday and Saturday. They will reach the destination at 4:15 am the next day. The fare will be the same as Rajdhani Express. In addition, the same rules that apply to all other special trains also apply to the Sealdah-Puri special.

Today, all reservation counters of Howrah Division are open from 1st October. However, the reservation counter of other stations was not opened except the important station of Sealdah. All counters will be closed except Dharmatala in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, passengers are undergoing a preliminary health check-up before boarding the train. If a passenger’s body temperature is found to be higher than the prescribed level in the thermal test, he is not allowed to travel even if he has a confirmed ticket. Instead the ticket price is being refunded.
