This time, Bengali cinema lovers are going to get another literary based film as a gift. ‘Mayamrigaya’ is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Two Sisters’. Arpita Chatterjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty will be seen in the roles of two sisters in this film directed by Shuvrajit Mitra.
Life came in the evening and Rabindranath Tagore wrote ‘Duibon’. The story of Sharmila and Urmimala came up in his writing. Director Shuvrajit Mitra is making Mayamrigaya based on that story. When contacted, the director said, “Arpita Chatterjee (Sharmila) and Ritabhari Chakraborty (Urmimala) will be seen in the role of two sisters in the film. Ditipriya Roy is in the role of Rokeya in the film (‘Rani Rasmoni’ on the small screen). Indranil Sengupta will be seen in the role of Shashanka. Photo shooting will start from January next year. Apart from Kolkata, Murshidabad, Bolpur, the film is to be shot in Almora, Uttarakhand.

Earlier, director Shuvrajit Mitra had made ‘Adventurer’ based on Bibhutibhushan’s Apu trilogy. Arjun Chakraborty has played the role of Apu in this film. Besides, Ditipriya has played the role of Aparna, Arpita Chatterjee has played the role of Leela, Sabyasachi Chakraborty has played the role of Shankar, Ayushman Mukherjee has played the role of Apu’s son Kajal, Srilekha Mitra has played the role of Ranu Didi and Tanushree Shankar has played the role of Burani. However, the release of the film has been delayed due to the lockdown. Director Shuvrajit Mitra said that no decision has been taken about the release of this ‘adventurer’ who opened the cinema hall before Pujo.
